Teach First Israel (Chotam) celebrated its fifth anniversary with at its annual conference, which included Chotam teachers, staff, supporters, and dignitaries from around the world, as well as Teach For America’s founder, Wendy Kopp. Nadav Kadar, VP of the Naomi Foundation’s Board of Directors and Ilana Kurizki, Advisor to the Board of Directors and the foundation’s Ambassador in Israel delivered remarks and presented the foundation’s greeting video.
The conference congratulated the program staff and teachers on a job well done – Chotam teachers are improving the lives of thousands of children across Israel, helping them access quality education regardless background.
However, no one at Chotam stopped for long. Teachers presented on their work in the classroom, school projects, and talked about collaboration with local governments. The second half of the conference was used to create a micro-think tank to explore potential areas of improvement and future impact including creating better opportunities for science teachers, expanding Chotam into the other geographic sectors, and growing Chotam’s network.
The Naomi Foundation proudly sponsored the celebratory dinner, attended by all conference participants on the first night of the conference.
